    Ibiza romper fun!

Posted by Jess on Aug 20th 2019

The Ibiza romper is adorable and the only one out there that has an elastic peasant style top. (Easy to jump in and out of.) I was looking to recreate my daughter's favorite Old Navy romper.

Please note - I went off on my own and used a very stretchy rayon / spandex knit fabric. It has fantastic drape and less structure but still worked out well. My other changes were measuring my daughter's waist and using that measurement for the elastic (she's a bit round in the middle) and I did the same for the neck elastic, she wanted it looser. Neck elastic width is 1/4" - that is missing from the pattern but you guys quickly answered my question. I also used a much larger hem on the shorts to my daughter's preference. (I think I ended up with a 2" inseam.)

My daughter is an athletic built, 10 year old and we used size 12. Can't wait to make another one (probably using knit again) with pants.
